Recent activity on your HR Dashboard

Getting Started as an HR Admin 4 min readUpdated yesterday

What the Recent activity widget on the HR Dashboard shows, which kinds of activity can appear in it, how many rows it holds, and what it never shows.

Recent activity is a widget on the HR Dashboard. It lists what has recently happened in your company in CLVR: an expense uploaded or approved, a benefit bought, a sign-in, a vacation-day or pension choice. It shows things that never reach your approvals, like a benefit that needs no approval.

What a row shows

Each row is one thing that happened. It shows who did it, a short line saying what, and how long ago, for example 2 hours ago. The newest is at the top.

The name is whoever did it. That's not always the employee. "Anna approved an expense" names Anna, the approver. When CLVR's AI decided, the row says so, for example CLVR's AI approved an expense.

Rows aren't links. The widget shows what's been happening. It isn't a list of tasks.

Some lines add a detail:

ActivityExample line
Expense uploadAnna uploaded an expense in Wellness
Vacation electionAnna chose 5 vacation days
Pension electionAnna chose the ITP1 pension
Red day swapAnna moved 6 June to 9 June, with (+2 more) if she moved several at once
Work equipmentAnna requested a work phone, with the model if she picked one

The names, dates and amounts in the examples are made up.

Which activity appears

The widget only shows the kinds of activity CLVR has turned on for your company. Contact CLVR to choose them.

ActivityAvailable
Expense uploadsEvery company
Expense decisions, by a person or by CLVR's AIEvery company
Benefit purchasesEvery company
Benefit forms sent to providersEvery company
Partner benefit interest and activationsEvery company
Sign-ins (successful ones only)Every company
Red day swapsIf your company has the benefit
Work equipment requestsIf your company has the benefit
Vacation electionsIf your company has the benefit
Pension electionsIf your company has the benefit

An activity tied to a benefit disappears from the widget if the benefit is turned off later.

Narrow it for yourself

On your own dashboard you can narrow what the widget shows. Select Customize, then Widget settings on the widget:

  • Activity types: All, Expenses or Benefits. Sign-ins only show under All.
  • Rows shown: 5, 10 or 20.

You can only narrow what CLVR turned on. Nobody else's dashboard changes. See Customize your HR Dashboard.

Note.

Sign-ins happen far more often than anything else. If sign-ins are on with other activity, expect most rows to be sign-ins. Pick Expenses or Benefits to hide them.

What it never shows

The widget is built from a fixed list of activity. Nothing outside the list can appear. That means no password resets, no CLVR support access to your account, and no internal CLVR activity.

It also shows less than the record behind it:

  • A sign-in shows who and when. It never shows an IP address, browser or device.
  • A vacation election shows the number of days. A pension election shows the arrangement. Neither ever shows a salary.

Troubleshooting

  • The widget says "No activity types are selected for this dashboard yet." CLVR hasn't turned on any activity for your company. Contact CLVR and say which kinds you want.
  • The widget says "Nothing has happened yet in the selected activity types." The activity is on, but nobody has done any of it yet. A newly launched benefit often looks like this for a while.
  • The widget isn't on my dashboard. It's hidden at first. Select Customize, then Add widget, and add Recent activity.
  • Recent activity isn't in Add widgets. CLVR hasn't turned on any activity for your company yet. Contact CLVR.
  • I don't see sign-ins. You picked Expenses or Benefits. Choose All under Activity types.
