The 31.42% employer social fee is built into each employee's benefit allowance rather than added on top. The company sets a fixed budget; we calculate the social fee, benefit value (BIK), and deductions per benefit so the total employer cost stays flat while employees still get the full value of what they choose. When you set your benefit allowance budget, remember to account for the social fee so it's covered within the overall budget you bring into the platform.

BIK (förmånsbeskattning) is the taxable value of a benefit an employee receives. CLVR calculates BIK, employer social fees, and VAT splits automatically for every benefit and category, then carries those figures straight through to your payroll export, so nothing has to be worked out by hand.

The Swedish wellness allowance (friskvårdsbidrag) is tax free and automatically capped at 5,000 kr to comply with tax rules. All wellness receipts must be approved before the final cut-off date for the December payroll report, so they are paid out before the new calendar year begins.

Salary exchange (löneväxling) lets an employee move part of their gross salary into pension. Because pension is charged the lower 24.26% special payroll tax instead of the 31.42% social fee, both sides save. CLVR supports salary exchange to pension and shows the effect on net pay in a simulated payslip. If you want, the difference between the two rates can be topped up into the employee's pension as well.

We are always expanding the range of suppliers our customers can choose from, and we welcome any benefit provider whose offering fits the relevant tax and compliance rules (in Sweden, that means it can be handled correctly as a taxable or tax-free benefit). Sweden is our deepest market today. The platform's country architecture is built so a new market, with its own tax rules and categories, can be stood up quickly. The Nordics are next.
