Temporary access via personal email
Let an employee who can't use their work account sign in with a personal email until a date you choose, and what happens if they are leaving.
Sometimes an employee can't use their work account for a while: garden leave, parental leave or a laptop handed back. If your company signs in with Microsoft or Google, they then have no way into CLVR. You can let them sign in with a personal email address until a date you choose.
How it works
The employee types the personal address on the sign-in page. They get a link and a one-time code by email. It works on any computer or phone. Their benefits, allowance and expenses stay as they are.
The personal address doesn't replace the work address. It is an extra way in, for a limited time. It works with the email link and code only, not with Microsoft, Google or a password.
Give access
Access saves at once. It doesn't wait in the panel's save bar. Tell the person which address to use.
The card then shows a line such as "Anna Andersson signs in with a link sent to anna@example.com until 2026-12-31." The Access tab shows a dot while the person has access.
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Edit | Change the address or the date. |
| Cancel access | Stop the address from signing in, right away. |
| Renew | After access has expired, give a new date. |
| Remove | After access has expired, remove the address. |
If the employee is leaving
Personal access never outlasts a termination. Access ends on the last day, whatever date you chose. The card says so. If a last day is set, a line under the fields gives the date, for example: "Anna Andersson is scheduled to be terminated on 2026-12-31, so access ends then at the latest."
You can give access to someone with a last day ahead, for example someone released from work until then. CLVR moves the date back to their last day if you pick a later one.
After the last day, the person can't sign in with either address. The card says Not available after termination. The personal address is removed with the rest of their data when they are anonymised.
Troubleshooting
- The address is refused as a work address. It belongs to a domain that signs in with Microsoft or Google. Use a personal address, such as Gmail or Outlook.com.
- The address is refused as already in use. Each sign-in address belongs to one person in all of CLVR. Use another address.
- The employee is told no account was found. Check that they typed the address on the card, that access hasn't expired, and that their last day hasn't passed.
- The employee is still signed in after I cancelled. A session already open lasts up to eight hours. New sign-ins with the address stop at once.
