Open the Approval Settings page

Find the Approval Settings page, see who can open it, and learn what the two sections let you manage.

The Approval Settings page is where your HR team builds approval flows and decides who reviews expenses for each group. This article shows you how to reach the page, who can open it, and what the two sections on it do.

Open the page

From inside CLVR Benefits, go to the HR area and open the Settings group in the left menu. Select Approval Settings.

The page lives at the path /hr/settings/approvals, and its breadcrumb reads HR, then Settings, then Approval Settings, so you can always tell where you are. The subheading sums it up: create approval flows and manage approver groups.

Note.

Approval Settings is available to every company, with no extra setup or feature to switch on. If you have HR access in CLVR, you can open it right away.

Who can open it

The page is limited to people with HR access. If someone without HR access tries to open /hr/settings/approvals, CLVR sends them back to their dashboard instead. If a colleague needs to manage approvals and cannot reach the page, your HR contact can confirm whether they have HR access.

What you can manage here

The page has two sections you can expand and collapse:

  • Approval Flows. Create a flow, give it a Flow name, choose a Behavior (an approval process or auto approve), and pick the Groups (in order) that review it. Existing flows appear in a table where you can Edit or Delete each one.
  • Group Members. Assign which employees act as approvers for the HR, Salary, and Finance groups. Pick people from the list and your choice is saved as you go.

When the page opens, it loads your company's employees, your existing approval flows, and the current members of each group, so everything is ready to edit in place.

Tip.

Groups are added to a flow in the order you select them, and that order is the order approvers review in. Plan the sequence before you pick the groups.

Troubleshooting

  • The menu item is missing. The Approval Settings link sits under Settings in the HR menu. If you do not see the HR area at all, you may not have HR access yet. Ask your HR contact to check.
  • The page sends me to my dashboard. That redirect happens when your account does not have HR access. Your HR contact can confirm and update it.
  • A group has no one to assign. Only your company's employees appear in the picker. If someone is missing, add them as an employee first, then return here to assign them.
