A neurodevelopmental assessment as an employee benefit: what the Swedish Tax Agency says
The number of assessments for neurodevelopmental conditions (NPF in Swedish), such as ADHD and autism, is rising sharply in Sweden. That goes for children and young people, but also for adults. Many adults have lived for a long time with difficulties they never quite understood, and have never had the chance to be assessed and get the right support.
As more people seek an assessment, waiting times keep growing. Difficulties that go unnoticed and unsupported often affect working life too, and can lead to challenges in the work environment.
That is our starting point: Can an employer who sees challenges in the work environment offer an employee, who wants it themselves, a neurodevelopmental assessment? And if so, can the assessment be given as a tax-free benefit?
An assessment, and a possible diagnosis, benefits more than the individual. It also helps managers and teams understand what support is needed and how working together can work better.
During the webinar we go through how the Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket) views the question and what it means for you as an employer. The webinar is held in Swedish.
